Hey!

So I just joined on this today so I figured I'd tell all you guys & gals a little about myself.

My name is Jessica. But friends know me as either Jessi or Thrasherrr. I'm 17 years old & I live in a small town about 10 minutes from Pawtucket RI. I have 2 sisters, one older and one younger. I also have 2 nephews one is 3 years old and the other is 6 months old. I live with both my parents. My dad is a Firefighter/EMT & my mom sings in a women's barbershop chorus. I'm a junior at a vocational school thats 30 minutes away from where I live. I'm in Facilities Management at my school for my vocation. It's 8 different construction trades in one shop. Some of the trades in my shop are: Carpentry,Painting,Landscaping,Plumbing,Electrical,HVAC,Metal Fabrication and Welding.  I'm a part of my school's student council, and I've held the ambassador position for 07-08 and 08-09.

When I was about 7 years old, I decided that I wanted to try a hand at a sport so I did Kenpo karate. The studio that I trained at was great. The instructors were great, and I made a lot of good friends there. I trained in Kenpo karate for a total of 8 1/2 years, and I received my Junior Black Belt in 2004 when I was in 6th grade. During the 8 1/2 years I spent in training at the studio, I also took part in the Adult Kickboxing/Krav Maga program. When I trained in that class, I was the youngest in the class. The last belt I received in that was my blue belt. When I received my green belt in kenpo I was invited to be a part of the S.W.A.T team, which also stands for 'Special Winning Attitude Team'. As a part of the S.W.A.T team, I attended classes of the lower belt levels and of the 'Little Dragons' to serve as help to the head instructors of the class. Those of us who were on the S.W.A.T team were to be an example to the other kids that what we did is what they were training towards. The S.W.A.T team was also a demonstration team. We put together demonstrations of the skills we had learned at our belt level and we performed at the belt graduations & other events that the studio was asked to demonstrate at. In my training I also took part in the F.I.S.T program, which stands for 'Future Instructor Student Teacher'. This program trained us to become apprentice instructors at the studio and helped us to set goals for ourselves. I trained up until I received my apprentice level 1. I then chose to end my time at the studio to persue cheerleading as a new sport to try.

When I ended karate, I took part in Pop Warner Cheerleading for my town.I did it for 2 years, 8th grade & 9th grade. Both of the teams that I was on made it to the New England Regional Cheerleading Competition. I also cheerlead for my school. I was on JV during Winter season of my Freshman year, on JV of my fall and winter seasons Sophomore year, and I was on Varsity for my fall season for this year. Our cheerleading program does very well & we work really hard to get all the trophies that we've gotten.

Music is a big part of my life too. When I was in 5th grade I wanted to try an instrument, so I attempted flute...I hated it. So I changed my ways and learned Alto Sax. I played for 4 years. In 6th grade I was in concert band & chorus. In 7th grade I was in concert band, jazz band and I did chorus for half the year. My 8th grade year I was in concert band & was Alto Sax section leader, I was in jazz band & I also did percussion onsomble. I learned to play drums to different songs I like by ear. && I learned a few songs on guitar.
