On the Buddha's Birthday worshippers in Hong Kong bathe Buddha statues and feast on sumptuous vegetarian dishes. Prime sites are the Po Lin monastery on Lantau Island, the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Sha Tin and the Miu Fat Monastery, Tuen Mun.
Though a day of great reverence, non-Buddhist visitors are most welcome and it's a great opportunity to visit Hong Kong's Buddhist monks and monasteries.
