I can't help noticing that Classic Rock never dies.  Again and again, I find Classic Rock used for theme songs for TV(The Who for the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) or for American commercials.  How many young people still listen to the Beatles, Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young, etc.

Why do you think this music from the 1960s has such a long held popularity?

Yeah i know what you mean. I think that part of what is keeping it alive is when new artists do covers for those classic songs we kinda remember the origonal. Like when Killswitch Engage did the Dio cover for Holy Diver I went and listened to that song around 50 times. =P

If bands could just get a clue and create something original, we wouldn't have to listen to a dozen crappy versions of a classic that no one will ever be able to improve upon.  I just hate it when some no-talent act in a bid to revive their fading career, decides to do a cover of some classic and all the dumb masses go wild and think it's an original.  I think it's very shady for these 'artists' not to give credit where credit is due.

yes , i like classic rock too, i don't kown why .Most of songs and bands which i best like is classic.I almost listened to the classic rock only when i was fascinated by rock in my teenhood. and the same now.Meybe i can remember my teen-age when i listen to those songs again. Classic rock is full of the momery of my rebellious, imaginative teen-age.i can't forget the feeling when i listened to the stairway to heaven of led zeppelin at the first time, and i never forget the feeling when i listened to nirvana/the beatiles/Rem/pink floyd/metallica.....at the first time. Those classic rock can't be forgeten cuz they are original and they are the symbol of the special times. But for me ,it is the symbol of my teenhood which never return and it means once i was young despite i am not  too old yet.
