Since this is a learning group, I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread where those of us who want to learn more or practice more Chinese could do so! : ) I don't know a whole lot, but I'd love to learn. ^^

I suggest that we also use pinyin next to the chinese character as much as possible so that we know how to pronounce the characters. ^_^

For those of you who use firefox and can't read any characters, I recomend you download an addon called "Chinese pera-Kun" All you have to do is highlight characters and a translation pops up. I've found it really useful during casual webbrowsing and character study.

It's nice to meet you all! I should really clarify the above statement - I can only speak a little Mandarin. I'm in a first-year Chinese class at school, and I absolutely love it. I love the language, the culture...everything! It's just fascinating. I only know a few phrases as of yet, but I would love to keep learning and meet new people!
